Rusty, decayed, lost, broken, old and worn. These are characteristics of the various objects that inspire me. I take these items, find their strength and combine them into artwork that heightens their beauty and interest. This is often achieved with drawing, painting and installation and dependant on the character of the objects themselves.
Jennifer Terbieten Mayer is a visual artist working in a variety of media including drawing, painting, mixed media and installation. She received her Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in painting at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. She recently earned her MFA at Louisiana State University in the Painting and Drawing program, summer 2009. Her creative interests are based on the ordinary, the everyday and the multiple layers that generate our existence.
